Do you remember a time at UCC when you knew the names of every member? If you do, then you’ve been a part of this church for a long time. These days, many of us feel like we can’t keep up with which family just moved away and which one just moved to town. We look at the folks across the isle on Sunday morning wondering if they are visitors or members. It is hard to keep up!
This is a good problem to have. God is working in this place. He is providing many wonderful people to join in the work here. The difficulty of keeping up with all of the new people is an indicator that we are changing and growing. While this may at times be the source of some growing pains, it is better than the alternative.
In the midst of this growth, we want to make sure that all of our members are connected to the body in a healthy way. That is why we are going to spend time this morning encouraging you to be a part of a house church. The house church ministry is not perfect or the answer to all of our problems. But it is a positive and healthy way to ensure that our members are growing together in the Lord.
So, if you are not a part of one of our house churches, then you are officially invited! Please consider joining a house church today. On the left-hand column of our small groups page is a list of all of our house churches. Feel free to call a group leader or visit one of our groups.
Do not hesitate. There are many blessings and opportunities to bless others awaiting you. Please join a house church today!
